Clarence Reinhardt "Junior" Mickelson, 76, of Red Wing, formerly of Belvidere Township, died Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. He was born January 18, 1931 in Red Wing to Clarence and Mathilda (Rusch) Mickelson. He attended parochial school in Belvidere and was a 1950 graduate of Goodhue High School. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Iceland. After being discharged from the Army he began farming on the family farm in Belvidere Township. On March 15, 1969, he married Marlys Ohnstad at the First English Church in Cannon Falls. In addition to farming for many years, he was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Belvidere, having served on many church offices; the American Legion Post 598 in Bellechester; ARC SE Board; Lutheran Layman's League and AAL. He enjoyed being outside on the farm.
He is survived by his wife, Marlys; 2 sons: Jeffrey (Veronica Quamme, fiancé) Mickelson of Goodhue and Bradley Mickelson of Red Wing; 1 brother, Gerald (Marjorie) Mickelson of Lake City; 2 sisters, Lila Mae Nordlie of Stoughton, Wisc. and Angeline (Dave) Rose of Key West, Florida and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Milton and LeRoy Mickelson and one son, Christopher.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Belvidere with Reverend Bruce Stam officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
