Christopher E. Malloy, age 23 of Zumbrota died Sunday evening, December 13, 2009 as the result of a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident.

Christopher Edward Malloy was born April 25, 1986 in Cannon Falls, MN to Michael J. Malloy and Michelle (nee Clemens) Whitmire. He attended schools at Cannon Falls, Kenyon and Faribault High School. He worked at the Cannon Valley Co-op. Most recently, Christopher worked at the Country Kitchen in Cannon Falls as a cook. He was a member of the X-cites racing group and enjoyed MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). As a young man he participated in karate. Christopher enjoyed music, loved his family, was very proud of his Irish heritage, and had a real passion for caring for his son, Braylon.

Christopher is survived by his special friend, Amanda Annis of Faribault; one son, Braylon Malloy of Faribault; his mother and step-father, Shelly and Darrin Whitmire of Zumbrota; three sisters, Brittani Clemens and Baylie Whitmire both of Zumbrota and Katilyn Malloy of Eagan; two brothers, Colbi Whitmire of Zumbrota and Tregg Sellers of Wanamingo; one niece, Nevaeh Clemens of Zumbrota; maternal grandparents, Dale and Theresa Clemens of Zumbrota; paternal grandmother, Nancy Malloy of Cannon Falls; great grandmother, Gloria Clemens of Red Wing; great grandparents, Columbus and Rose Freiermuth of Hastings; uncles and aunts, Dale Clemens Jr. of Pine Island; Kim and Nate Rodrick of Zumbrota; David and Jean Malloy of Texas; Joe and Kelly Malloy, Diane Malloy, Barb and Ray Werner, and Rich and Paige Malloy all of Cannon Falls; cousins, Brody and Hunter Clemens of Pine Island, Kayden Rodrick of Zumbrota, along with many other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Joseph Malloy; one brother,Cody Richard Clemens; two sisters, Hannah Lorraine Whitmire and Brooke Kay Whitmire; great grandfather, Marvin Clemens, great grandparents, Helen and Harvey Weis; two great uncles, Rodney Clemens and David "Torch" Weis; and two cousins, Preston Michael Hemmah and Kari Jo Malloy.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, December 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM at New Life Church in Wanamingo with Reverend Pat McBride officiating. Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to the service at the church.
