Cheryl "Cheri" A. Grobe

Cheryl "Cheri" A. Grobe, 71, of Lake City passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Preferred Senior Living Memory Care Center in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. She was born on January 30, 1945 in Long Prairie, Minnesota to Clarence and Velma (Dinkel) Minke.
She was a 1963 graduate of Long Prairie High School and a 1964 graduate of Northwest Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology. In September 1971, Cheri was united in marriage to James Grobe. Cheri worked in Madison, South Dakota two years before moving to Lake City where she worked for Dr. Sontag and Dr. Fiegal until their retirement. She then worked at Fairview Medical Clinic in Red Wing until she retired in 2008. Cheri had a strong faith, and she enjoyed going to lunch with friends, reading, going for walks, and spending time with family and friends.
Cheri is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Mason (Emily) Grobe of Lake City, Lance (Nicole) Grobe of Hutchinson; and five grandchildren, Avery, Portland, Lane, Addison and Dylan. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Rhonda Neibur.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Joseph Pete officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Alzheimer's Association.
