Charlotte A, Windhorst age 100 of Zumbrota died peacefully on Saturday morning, May 30, 2015 at her grandson's home in Cannon Falls. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Wayne D. Schoch officiating. Burial will be Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Charlotte Augusta Larson was born on September 22, 1914 in rural LeRoy, MN to Monson and Martha (nee Kuehn) Larson. Her family moved to Simpson, MN where they farmed and in 1920 they moved to rural Mazeppa. Charlotte was raised on the farm, attended country School and in 1931 graduated from Mazeppa High School. On November 28, 1933 she married Arnold H. Windhorst in Mazeppa. They farmed in Pine Island Township until 1981, when they moved into Zumbrota. Charlotte was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Mazeppa Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and dancing.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Byron Windhorst of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Brenda (Steve) Wiech of Mazeppa, Terry (Dawn) Schreyer of Cannon Falls and Tom (Chris) Schreyer of Zumbrota; great-grandchildren, Heather (David) Groby, Tiffany (Levi) Nugent, Cassandra (Brandon) Strain, Brittany (Jason) Day, Amanda (Mike) Schreyer, Katie Schreyer, Anthony Schreyer and Joey Schreyer; great-great-grandchildren, Damian Binner, Kaleb Walter, Gage Befort, Kaden Kleinschmidt, Emma Schreyer, Eli Day, Alivia Day, Johanna Strain and Beau Strain
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; daughter, Bonnie Morse and brother, Tilden Larson.
Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church.
