Charlotte A. Machnik

Charlotte Ann Machnik, 93, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was born Nov. 10, 1917 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Albert and Agnus (Brzozowski) Janczak. She married Alois Machnik on May 28, 1938 and they lived in Milwaukee where she had worked for the City of Milwaukee as a stenographer. After Alois retired 1973 they moved to Red Wing and she worked many years at the Goodhue County Highway Department. Alois died May 11, 2008. She enjoyed needlework, puzzle books and reading.

She is survived by son, Jim (Mary) Machnik of Red Wing; daughter Virginia Herr of Milwaukee; three granddaughters, Brenda Machnik of Eagan, Patricia (John) Jones of Nottingham, PA and Jennifer (Michael) Herr of Milwaukee and three great-granddaughters, Paige, Nicolette and Ashley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, five siblings and a son-in-law, John Herr.

A committal service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Milwaukee. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
