Charlotte Constance Harwick

Funeral services for Charlotte Harwick will be held Thursday May 12th at 11:00 AM at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester. The Rev. Nancy Wheeler Handlon will officiate. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Mrs. Harwick, 85, of Rochester, died Saturday May 8, 2016 at Seasons Hospice.
Charlotte Constance Brekke was born March 10, 1931 in Rock Dell, the daughter of William and Cora (Evjen) Brekke. Raised on a farm near Rock Dell, she was a graduate of Byron High School. She married Roger Harwick on September 9, 1951 at East Saint Olaf Church in Rock Dell. Charlotte was a teachers' aide in Rochester at St. John's Elementary, Central Junior High, and Willow Creek Junior High. She retired in 1993 after more than 20 years of service to the schools.
A member of Christ United Methodist Church, she was active in the Ladie's Auxiliary there, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She raised 4 children, cared for her elderly parents, and for an aunt and uncle. She enjoyed gardening.
Charlotte is survived by her husband Roger Harwick of Rochester; daughters Debra Harwick Orris of Rochester, and Susan (Ronald) Watts of Rochester; sons William Harwick of Albert Lea, and Daniel Harwick of Savage; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a brother Gerald Brekke in Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 grandchildren, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Visitation for Charlotte Harwick will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
If so desired, memorials may be directed to Seasons Hospice or Christ United Methodist Church.
