Charles “Chuck” Edward Frawley, 89, of Red Wing, died Thursday, November 23, 2023 at the Benedictine Care Center in Red Wing, Minnesota. He was born February 9, 1934, to Charles A. and Charlotte Grace (Fiedler) Frawley in St. Peter, Minnesota. On November 8, 1954, Chuck was united in marriage to Joyce Ethel Jorgenson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Joyce passed away on September 9, 2022, so now Chuck and Joyce will continue on their sentimental journey together. Chuck proudly served in the United States Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1957. He worked for many years with the Department of Corrections and was the Special Assistant to the Warden in Charge of MDTA at the Stillwater Prison. He retired as Recreational Director at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Red Wing. Chuck was a member of the Elks, Red Men Club, VFW, and the American Legion. He was a proud father and talented athlete whose love for sports continued through watching his children’s and grandchildren’s games.
He is survived by his sons, Charles (Rhee) Frawley, James (Annette) Frawley, and John (Anita) Frawley; daughter, Catherine (Nicholas) Ries; his sister, Charlotte Bennett; his brother, Henry J. Frawley; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; his infant children, Michael, Joseph, and Mary; his parents, Charles and Charlotte; and his siblings, Marilyn and William.
A celebration of life will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the home of Chuck’s grandson, Nick (Jessica) Ries, at 23210 Polk Avenue Hastings, Minnesota 55033. The family invites you to join them for a time of food and fellowship. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the discretion of the family. Arrangements were handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing.
