ROCHESTER - Charles N. Washburn, age 74, of Rochester, joined our Lord Jesus Christ in peace on Friday Dec. 9, 2016, surrounded by his family, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary's Campus in Rochester.
Charles Newell Washburn was born Jan. 5, 1942 in Rochester to Harold and Adeline (Brandvik) Washburn. He grew up in Rochester and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1961. Chuck attended Rochester Junior College receiving a degree in Business Administration, before graduating from Mankato State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He married Ann Carman in 1963, they were later divorced. On Oct. 16, 1999 he married Patricia Dolden, she survives. Chuck was a stockbroker with Merrill-Lynch in Rochester. After retirement he had a paper route. He enjoyed going out to eat, watching movies, and was an avid poker player.
Survivors include his wife Patricia of Rochester; two sons Edward, and Scott (Carrie), both of Rochester; two step-sons Jeff Dolden of Florida; and Steve Dolden of Frontenac, MN; a step-daughter Okcha Chang of Rochester; a granddaughter Haley Beth Hoffman; two step-grandchildren Ginger Lanctot, and Justin Dolden; three step-great grandchildren; and his sister Karen (Dennis) Nolte of Rochester. He loved his family, and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched!
The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Rochester Chapel. Friends may call one hour before the service, and a reception will be held following the service.
