Charles Pomerleau, 78, of Oakdale, formerly of Red Wing, passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on October 2, 2020 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing High School, class of 1960 (Go Wingers) before going on to Hamline University. He served in the United States Army for two years before being honorably discharged in the late 60’s.
He worked for the Minnesota Department of Economic Security, retiring in 2005. He participated in recreational sports, including basketball, football, softball and golf, well into his 50s and served as League Secretary for his softball league for over 30 years. Anyone who knew Chuck knew how much he loved being in the sun and working out. But most of all he loved the Cocker Spaniels he shared his life with, Lady, Lesha and finally, until her passing 4 months ago, Princess.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert; parents, Hugh and Phyllis; and his beloved companions.
