Charles J. Johnson, 77, of Wacouta, passed away from cancer with his daughter and granddaughter at his side. Charles was the oldest son of Elmer and Emaline (O'Keefe) Johnson, born January 22, 1939 in Nelson, Wisc. He attended high school in Alma, Wisc. Charles married Valarie Prigge and together they raised 3 children.
Charles farmed for several years and also worked as a logger. Later, he worked at the Prairie Island nuclear plant. He loved to have cookouts with his family, going to farm auctions, was an avid reader and had lots of love for his two yorkies, Tiger and Tillie.
His is survived by his former wife and best friend, Val; children Marvin and Kelly (Featherstone) Johnson and Marty and Barb Smith; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Jim Swenson, Lyle Batilia and Joe Coburn; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Lloyd and Carol Betcher and Art and Lori Prigge.
He is preceded in death by his son, David Johnson; 7 siblings and his parents.
