Charles Francis Gilsdorf

Charles Francis Gilsdorf, 47, of Bellechester, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 5, 2011 at his home. He was born on February 14, 1964, in Zumbrota, the son of Leo and Ethel (Majerus) Gilsdorf. He graduated from Goodhue High School. He was a lifelong resident of Bellechester. He met Kim (Berggren) Benson and they later married on June 27, 1992 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Belvidere Township. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester and a member of Goodhue Bellechester Railriders Association. He enjoyed hunting, four wheeling, motorcycling, camping, trips to Grammie's cabin, tinkering in his garage, and spending time with family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Gilsdorf of Bellechester; two sons, Jacob "Bob" Gilsdorf of Bellechester, Matthew Benson (fiancé Chelsea Brennan) of Princeton, MN; one granddaughter, Allison Benson; two sisters, Mary (Lloyd) Powell, Louise (Gary) King; three brothers, Kenny (Diane) Gilsdorf, Larry (Sharon) Gilsdorf, Erv (Denise) Gilsdorf; mother-in-law, Dorothy Berggren; two sisters in-law, Cindy (Dan) Nunez, Sandy Berggren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law Cy and Karen Gilsdorf; brother, Ray Gilsdorf; and father in-law, Dale Berggren.
Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester with Father Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the church and for one hour prior to the mass. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
