Charles S. Buck

Charles S. Buck, age 87 of Zumbrota died on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Zumbrota Health Services. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 11:30 AM at the Zumbrota Cemetery with Reverend Cory Moss officiating and military honors provided by Stary-Yerka VFW Post #5727 of Zumbrota.
Charles Stary Buck was born on May 10, 1928 in Rochester, MN to Fred G. and Gladys R. (nee Stary) Buck. He grew up in Zumbrota and attended Zumbrota schools. Charlie started working for the Farmers Co-op Creamery in Zumbrota. On January 18, 1951 he entered the U. S. Army. He served during the Korean Conflict, mainly playing percussion in an Army band. On January 21, 1953 he was honorably discharged and he returned to Zumbrota. Charlie returned to his job at the Farmers Co-op Creamery and worked there until he retired. After retiring from the creamery, Charlie wrote articles and columns for the News-Record for several years. He enjoyed creative writing, corresponding by letter with his friends, composing and singing music and having coffee and socializing with people.
Charlie is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hildred and Gertrude Buck and brothers, Lloyd and Morris Buck.
