Cenell Davis, 89, of Rochester, died on December 8, 2021 at home. He suffered from a short illness and was under the care of his wife, Melissa, and a team of Home Health Care Providers.
Born in Rich Mississippi, on July 1, 1932 , Cenell was the second to the youngest of 6 boys, born to Searcy and Minnie (Hudson) Davis.
In November 1950, he was united in marriage to Corine (Williams) Davis. He served in the Korean War, with the 47th Armored F.A. Battalion. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he returned home and he and Corine relocated to Dodge Center to live with her aunt and uncle. They eventually purchased their own small farm, and Cornell worked for the City of Dodge Center for 35 years as a Maintenance Engineer. Following his retirement, the couple moved to Byron. Cenell continued doing odd jobs and different types of work until he was 83 years old.
Cenell and Corine were married for 58 years. She passed away in 2008. In 2014 he was united in marriage to Melissa Potts Emerson. For the past 8 years Melissa and Cornell shared many happy times together. Cornell enjoyed fishing, travel, sports, volunteering, word puzzles, old cowboy reruns and playing Bingo.
Cenell is preceded in death by; his parents, first wife Corine, his 5 brothers; Cornell, Lenzy, Samuel, Nathaniel and James, and infant sister.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Melissa Emerson- Davis, daughter Teri Davis and grandson Terrance Davis, of Louisville, Kentucky; sister-in-laws Dorothy Franklin, Montgomery Alabama, Katie Wilson(Norman) , Warrensview Heights, Ohio, Edna Potts, South Bend, Indiana, Edith Alvies (Rudolph), Indianapolis, Indiana, many extended family in Ohio, Missouri, Indiana and Florida.

A funeral service is planned for 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home in Rochester. Please join us. Burial will be private.
