Funeral services for Mr. Cau Dang will be held Tuesday October 2nd at 12:00 noon at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Dang, 83, of Rochester, died Wednesday September 26, 2012 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Born in China on September 27, 1928, Mr. Dang lived in Vietnam for 25 years. He married Mui Say Thoon in 1973 in Vietnam. Mr. Dang came to the United States in 1981, settling in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and then moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin. He moved to Rochester in 1987. Mr. Dang was a partner in the Great China Restaurant, which opened in 1988. He sold the business in 1997 and retired. He will be remembered as a hard worker, a kind man, and he was always happy to help everyone he knew.
He is survived by his wife, Mui Say Thoon of Rochester; a son Trung (Yun) Dang of Winona; a daughter, Danielle (Brian) Marien of Rochester; and four grandchildren, Michelle, Kevin, Simon, and Jason, all of Winona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and 3 brothers.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of the service at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel.
