Catherine "Katie" Wiberg

Catherine "Katie" Wiberg, 82, of Red Wing, died Monday, January 15, 2018 at her home. She was born September 2, 1935 in Red Wing to Clem and Rose (Wolpers) Redding. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School. After high school she went to work at Montgomery Ward, where she worked for 30 years. On July 18, 1953 she married Lawrence Wiberg in Northwood, IA. They resided in Red Wing, Bay City, and Plum City where they owned and operated the Central Bar. She worked at Thrifty White Drug Store until her retirement. She enjoyed yard sales, making earrings, and playing cards. Katie was a warm caring person who helped numerous kids get their career started through a program at Montgomery Ward.
She will be missed by many including four children; Duane (Sheree) Wiberg of Bay City, Carmen Steffenhagen of Clearwater, FL, Jay and Wade (Karen) Wiberg all of Red Wing; two grandchildren, Alisha Chapman and Troy Yotter; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wiberg; parents; brother, Richard.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing. Visitation will be one hour prior. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
