Catherine L. Jeske

Catherine "Katy" Lucy Jeske, 74, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was born July 20, 1938 in Ellsworth, Wisconsin, to William and Laurina (Glines) Klopf. She attended elementary schools, including one room school houses in Bay City and Hager City, Wisconsin. She graduated from Red Wing Central High in 1956. She had worked at the Gypsy Trail and Hiawatha Grill restaurants while in high school. She married Kenneth R. Jeske on October 6, 1956 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked at St. John's Hospital in the Medical Records Office from 1956 until 1970 and then worked at NSP until retiring in 1996. As a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Katy spent many years volunteering there, serving on the Vestry, the Property Committee-during which time the elevator was added to the church and she was a part of the Altar Guild, serving as committee member, Chair and Directoress. She was a lay reader and greeter/usher. She also assisted in the kitchen with the "funeral ladies" during funerals. Katy enjoyed reading, entertaining and she greatly enjoyed the river view from her home.

She is survived by 3 children, Gene Jeske of Red Wing, Annette Johnson of Hager City, WI and Dorinda (Andrew) Hogan of Red Wing; daughter-in-law, Debra (Bob Osgood) Jeske of Red Wing; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Shirley (Mearl) Voth of Goodhue, Iris (Terry) Nelson of Red Wing, Mary (Dennis) DeTray of McLean, VA and Philip Klopf of Plum City, WI; half-brother, Orvin Ingli of Oakdale and half-sister, Lucille Hintz of Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Klopf; husband, Kenneth, Sr.; son, Kenneth, Jr.; son-in-law, Brad Johnson; mother, Laurina Holmes; half-brothers, Eugene Ingli, Wallace, Willard and Leonard Klopf and half-sister, Marge Wahlin.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing, with Father Michael Way officiating. Burial will be at Wacouta Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing, and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the church or donor's choice.
