Catherine Elizabeth Butler, 66, of White Rock, MN, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, and went to be with our Lord and Savior. She was born on May 25, 1958, in Wisbech, England to Edwin ‘Ted’ and Kathleen (Owen) Burbidge. She grew up and attended schools in England and in the late 1970’s came to the United States. She fell in love with Stephen Butler and they were married in 1981. They lived in various places throughout Minnesota raising their children, moving to England in 1991 to be near her family. Later returning to Minnesota in 1998, employed for a number of years as the Assistant Manager for Homeplace in West St. Paul. Since 2001, they have resided in White Rock.

Catherine completed Art Instructional School in the 1980’s and enhanced her existing skills at drawing and painting. She had a true gift of always caring for others in so many special ways. The love she provided for her family, especially her grandchildren, will always be a lasting memory they will cherish. Her faith was an important part of her life. At the Harris Covenant Church in Minnesota, she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior on April 28, 1988, and was baptized on September 17, 1989.

Catherine is survived by her loving husband, Stephen of 43 years; five beloved children, Jason (Tricia) Butler, Jonathan (Rebekah) Howells, Sherry (Mike) Miller, Julie Butler, and Tina O’Connell; 22 grandchildren, Kirsty, James, Nicola, Deanna, Cheyenne, James, Carrie Anne, Grace, Kai, Jay, Elissa, Liam, Jazz, Kennedy, Lottie, Finnley, Ava, Loretta, Meghan, Kathryn, Leland, and Emily; six great grandchildren, Mason, Luca, Amelia, Daisy-May, Linda Marie, and Caroline Catherine due in June 2025; three siblings, Eileen (Bernard) Bliss, Tommy (Marie) Burbidge, and Richard Burbidge; brother-in-law, Peter Barnes, many nieces and nephews; dearest friend, Lori, along with many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Judith ‘Judy’ Barnes and Rose Mickelson.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church in Somerset, WI, with a reception to follow at the church. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the memorial service. Live stream will be available to watch the memorial service from home. A link will be added to the obituary prior to service.
