Caryl Tri
Caryl Hazel Tri, 82, of Kenyon Sunset Home passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Kenyon Sunset Home. She was born December 24, 1926 in Leon Township to Tyler and Ingeborg (Ellingson) Holien. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On May 3, 1947 she married Sylvester Tri at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Zumbrota. They farmed near Mazeppa until Sylvester died on March 14, 1968. In 1969 she moved to Cannon Falls where she worked at Kid Dudz for 20 years. She later moved to Zumbrota in 1992 until a fall placed her at the Kenyon Sunset Home in 2003. She enjoyed visiting with people, gardening, going to movies, and sightseeing. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, David (Becky) Tri of Zumbrota and Michael (Mary) Tri of Rochester; grandchildren Peter, Sam, Charles (Becky), Ben (Mary), Kimberly, Christopher (Monica), Brian (Rachel), and Lisa Tri; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Gennaveve, Cooper, Andrew, Travis, Thomas, Hailey, Isabel, Olivia, and Abigail Tri; sisters, Muriel (Ward) Duncan of Zumbrota, Janice O'Brien of Cannon Falls; brothers, Vernon Holien of Tacoma, WA, Roger (Evelyn) Holien of North Branch; sister-in-law, Jean Holien of Cannon Falls. Preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester; brothers, Kenneth and LeRoy Holien; sisters, Evelyn Stream, Gladys Skogman, and Clarice Knowlton.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 4, 2009 at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Reverend Dr. Gary Titusdahl officiating. Burial will be at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Mazeppa. Visitation will be 2p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
