Carrie Jane McDonald

Carrie J. McDonald age 85 of Zumbrota, formerly of Minneapolis died on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the Zumbrota Health Services. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Ascension, 1723 Bryant Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN with Father Joseph Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Carrie was born on July 23, 1923 in Boials, MS and grew up in Arkansas. On November 15, 1950 she married Chester A. McDonald in Chicago. They made their home in Chicago. In 1965 they moved to Minneapolis and in October of 2008 they moved to Zumbrota. She was a very active member of her churches in both Chicago and Minneapolis. Carrie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, flowers, nature and reading. Carrie is survived by her husband Chester A. McDonald Sr., her children; Carolyne Benson of Zumbrota, Anthony McDonald of Minneapolis, Yvonne McDonald of Minneapolis and Gerard (Gabi) McDonald of Michiana Shores, IN, seven grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Benson, Anthony and Armand McDonald, Gerard McDonald Jr., Corey Knutson and Amy McDonald. Carrie was preceded in death by one son, Chester McDonald Jr., two brothers and four sisters. Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home � Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
