Carolyn M. Kunde

Carolyn M. Kunde, age 77, of Wanamingo, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin, WI. She was born on May 16, 1935, in Leon Township, Goodhue County, to Walter and Myrtle (Anderson) Freeberg. Carolyn graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1953. She worked at Mayo Clinic as a medical secretary, and also at Edgewood Restaurant as a waitress. On May 4, 1957, she married Donald E. Kunde in Cannon Falls. They lived in rural Wanamingo where they farmed and raised hogs and livestock. Carolyn also worked at Riverview Manor in Wanamingo as a caregiver, and retired from Midwest Imports of Cannon Falls in 2000. Carolyn was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and participated in the Red Hatter's Club. She enjoyed baking, sewing, needle crafts, and having lunch with her friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Craig of Zumbrota; daughters, Kaia (Guy) England of Dubai, U.A.E., Cara (Andy) Geurkink of Baldwin, WI, Krista Toepper of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Donald, who died on February 8, 2004; parents; brothers, Irvin and Ellis Freeberg; and sister, Ione Swanson.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo with Pastor Christopher Culuris officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and for one hour prior to the service at the church. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
