Carolyn Jeanette "C.J." Jones, 72, of Red Wing, died Saturday April 2, 2011 at Red Wing Health Center. She was born on June 20, 1938, in Pecos Texas, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Scholz) Hopper. She graduated from Ysleta High School, TX. She worked as a flight attendant and participated in rodeos, as a barrel racer, where she met her future husband Pete Jones where he performed as a rodeo clown. They were married on June 19, 1961. They raced horses together all over the country. They later divorced. She moved to Red Wing in the late 1990's to be with family. She worked at the local Wal-Mart for many years until retiring this past year. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and DIY projects around the house. She was an avid Twins baseball and Tennessee Titans football fan. She also enjoyed playing and watching tennis, and loved dogs.
She is survived by one daughter, Christy (Tim) Brazee of Red Wing; two grandchildren, Shallon Jones of West St. Paul, Corey Campbell of Red Wing; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Baker, and one sister, Nancy Bowers of Ruidoso, NM. She was preceded in death by one son, Ike Jones.
