Carole DuMond, age 75, of Rochester, died Thursday (Feb. 21, 2013) at her home.
Carole Jean Magnuson was born Oct. 26, 1937 on the family farm in Newry Township, Freeborn County, MN to Ephraim and Louise (Luthe) Magnuson. She was raised on the family farm and attended Blooming Prairie Schools, graduating from High School in 1955. She studied Medical Technology in Austin for eighteen months and was employed at a Physician's Office before her marriage. On Aug. 22, 1961 she married Denver DuMond in Austin. The couple moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1961 where she was employed as a Medical Technologist. In 1995 the couple moved to Faribault, MN for five years, and then to Roswell, NM until 2005 when they moved to Rochester. Carole was a member of the Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church of Rural Austin. She enjoyed baking, crafts, Church Circle, her children, and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Denver; her daughter, Jana (Jason) Knapp of Woodbury, MN; three sons, Lance of Maple Grove, MN; Wade (Bekah) of Pine Island, MN; and Chad (Liana) of Montreal, Canada; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Elaine Larson of Mankato, MN; and Gayla (Gale) Russell of Urbandale, IA; two brothers, Burton Magnuson, and Dennis (Diana) Magnuson, both of Austin. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Sydney Magnuson.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 27, 2013) at the Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church with Pastor Lindsay Stolen officiating. Burial will be in the Red Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Rochester Chapel, and one hour before the service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church.
