Carol Ann Yarwood

Carol Ann Yarwood, 69, of Hager City, died Monday, August 12, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born August 16, 1949 in Austin, Minnesota to Earnest and LaVonne (Silker) Butts. She grew up in Austin and attended high school there. On February 6, 1971 she married Vernon Yarwood and the couple moved to the Red Wing area, eventually settling in Hager City where they raised their two children. Carol worked for Lakes Gas but she most enjoyed operating her own daycare out of her home. She was very proud of each of "Carol's Rugrats." She was also member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 357 in Bay City.
Carol loved raising her family. She went out of her way to make her husband, kids and grandkids happy even if it meant learning to love old westerns. She enjoyed reading, sewing and crocheting, taking trips to Walmart, and Elvis. She loved to spend time at the cabin with her family in Iron River, WI. She was a talented cook who used her skills to spell her grandkid's names in pancake batter.
She will be missed by many, including her husband, Vern of Hager City; son, Jason (Gloria) Yarwood of Hager City; daughter, Jenni (Adam) Hines of Ellsworth; three grandchildren, D.J. (Brandi), Alec and Addi; great-grandson, Oakley; siblings, Cindy (Jessie Larson) Weaver, Sue (Don Jackels) Olson and Bill (Jen) Butts.
She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary, and her parents.
A time of sharing will be at 11 a.m., on her birthday, Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Vasculitis Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, or to an organization of the donor's choice.
