Carol Warneke

Carol Jean (Dierking) Warneke, 87, formerly of Kenyon, passed away peacefully on Friday April 26, 2024 in Lake City, Minnesota.


Carol was born June 20, 1936 to Walter and Verna (Hildebrandt) Dierking in Nerstrand, Minnesota. She graduated from Faribault High School in 1955, and married Darrell Warneke on September 8, 1956.


Carol worked at the Faribault Regional Center in Faribault for 32 years. After she retired, Carol enjoyed doing crafts, flower gardening, spending winters in Florida, and attending her grandchildren's events. One of her many joys was cooking and making the best brownies.


Carol is survived by children Jeffrey (Janet) Warneke, John (Ruth) Warneke, Julie Warneke. Grandchildren Jared (Samantha) Warneke, Kaitlin (Jeff) Kujala, Nathan (Lexi) Warneke, Jamie (Zain) Abideen, Megan Warneke, Eric Emerson, and Luke Emerson. Great-grandchildren Addie, Hazel, Josie, Colby, Lila, Mason, Caysen. Sister-in-law Joyce Guenther-Campion, and Darlene (Dennis) Origer.


Carol is preceded in death by her husband Darrell, her parents Walter and Verna, son Brent, brother Merlin, and daughter-in-law Kimberly Warneke.


A memorial service will be held Saturday May 11th at 11:00 AM at Lands Lutheran Church near Zumbrota. The Rev. David Krinke will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Faribault at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park at a later date.
