Carol Piehl, 64, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Regency Hospital in Golden Valley after a lengthy illness. She was born September 20, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Flora (Holm-Hansen) Mayhercy. She graduated from high school in Chicago in 1964 attended Northwestern College and became a Registered Nurse. She married Gary Piehl on December 16, 1967 in Chicago. They lived in Wisconsin and Iowa before moving to Red Wing in 1977, where she was employed at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. In the past she had also worked in ticket sales at the Sheldon Theater, was a lunch and noon hour supervisor at Colvill School and she had been an assistant Girl Scout Leader.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Piehl of Red Wing and her daughter, Jennifer Piehl of Welch. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patricia Moore.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Gary Elg officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be
