Carol Ann Nelson

Carol Ann Nelson, 74, of Red Wing, died Thursday, August 22, 2019 at St. Crispin Living Community. She was born January 18, 1945 in Cumberland, Wisconsin to Chester and Ellen (Catlin) Wickman. She grew up on a farm in Cumberland and attended Turtle Lake High School. She spent some time working in a restaurant before moving to Red Wing where she began working as a nurse's aid. Carol sold Fuller Brush products, was an Avon Representative, and she was involved with the Christian Center. She married Terry Mattson and together they had one son, Mike. The couple later divorced. In 1991 she married Robert Nelson. Carol was a hard worker who loved animals and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Michael (Shawn) Mattson; step-children, Val (Brian) Densmore, Craig (Marjorie) Nelson, Teresa Maples and Douglas (Lynda) Nielson; brothers, Roy (Kathy) and Randy (Becky) Wickman; sister-in-law, Claire Wickman.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Robert Wickman.
A celebration of life and memorial service will be held 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the Luck Senior Center with Reverend Craig Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Haustrup Cemetery.
