ROCHESTER - Carol Harmon, age 80, of Rochester, died Friday Sept. 16, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospitals - Rochester, St. Mary's Campus.
Carol Jean Willing was born Dec. 11, 1935 in Rochester to William and Florence (Wobbrock) Willing. She was raised in Rochester and graduated from Rochester Central High School in 1953. On Oct. 11, 1954 she married Ivan Harmon in Lake City, MN. The couple lived in rural Mantorville and St. Charles, before living near Rochester from 1955 to 1958. They moved to Rochester in 1958. Carol started her career at the Mayo Clinic in 1956 and retired in 1996 as a Medical Records Supervisor.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Women's Auxiliary.
Carol enjoyed camping and fishing, lunch with her friends, collecting Cardinal trinkets and Bells. She was a loving grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 1. They consider her to be the most generous and loving woman in the world. They fondly remember her as a Professional Nursery "Rhymer".
Survivors include her husband Ivan, sister Betty Camp of ND, two sons, Brian, Judy (Bremer) Harmon of Rochester; and Randy, Gwen (Borgen) Harmon of Lanesboro, 8 grandchildren, Brooke, Brady, Becky, Blaine, Lance, Brynn (Harmon), Katie, and Tim (Stoick), and great grandchild, Arianna.
Her parents, her daughter Julie, one sister, and four brothers preceded her in death.
A celebration of Carol's life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Nathaniel R. Schwartz officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Rochester Chapel, and one hour before the service at the church Wednesday.
