Carol May Blank, 84, of Red Wing, died Friday, January 12, 2024 at The Homestead in Rochester. She was born May 10, 1939 in Red Wing to Peter and Lois (Bruns) Mallon. She grew up in Red Wing and attended Red Wing schools. She attended Rochester Community College where she received her bachelors in nursing, going to work as an RN. She worked in various nursing homes in Rochester. She was on the nursing staff at the Kahler Hotel for many years before moving on to Assisi Heights Spiritual Center where she cared for retired nuns.
She returned to Red Wing and in 2000, she married Joe Blank. She and Joe enjoyed traveling together and they wintered in Arizona. She was a skilled cook and baker. She enjoyed all kinds of crafting including, sewing, embroidery, and crocheting. She also like to tend to the flowers and watch the birds in her yard.
She is survived by her children; Terry Anderson, Barbra Rossi and Susan; step-children, Joseph Blank, Leonard Blank, Jane Morkwed, and Kenneth Blank; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Charlotte Babler.
She preceded in death by 2 sisters, 1 brother, and her parents
Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, January 18 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
