Carmen Elaine Harris, 96, Red Wing, died February 10, 2022 at her Valentines residence in Red Wing, Minn. She was born June 25, 1925, in Red Wing, to Eugene and Harriet (Englund) Allyn and graduated from Red Wing High School.
She was united in marriage to John “Dean” Harris on October 26, 1946, in Red Wing. Carmen was the bookkeeper for Allyn’s Bakery for 40 years and also traveled with Dean in his sales job. She enjoyed golfing, trips with Dean and family, and spending time at the family cabin in Wacouta for Sunday weekly potlucks. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was a member of the RW Elks Lodge PBOE #845. Carmen loved animals and looked forward to visits from everyone and their pets.
Above all, Carmen treasured her nieces and nephews and their families. She was an aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt, and recently became a great-great-great aunt; she made family her focus. She never missed a birthday or anniversary. She attended baptisms, confirmations, graduations, showers and weddings for three generations. Carmen maintained a personal relationship with every member of her extended family. It was something very special.
Carmen was preceded in death by her husband Dean, parents, sisters, Peggy (Don) Miller and Myrna (Pat) Huppert, and nephew Bradley Huppert.
