Carl ?Sonny? Edward Seymour, 80, of Red Wing, died Wednesday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester. He was born on July 18, 1926 in Red Wing to Carl and Elvira (Johnson) Seymour. He attended schools in Red Wing. On July 29, 1944, he was married LaVerne Fasbender in Red Wing. He served in the US Army from December 4, 1944, serving in the Pacific Theatre, and was discharged in September of 1946. For 48 years and three months he worked for Red Wing Shoe Company retiring in 1991. LaVerne died January 12, 1989. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed watching sports, birds and being with his family. Survivors include five children; Carol (Lelan) Jones of Hastings, Terry Seymour, Michael (Gail) Seymour and Kathy (Geoffrey) Johnson all of Red Wing and Ronald ?Ron? Seymour of Florence Township; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel (Marlene) Seymour and David Seymour all of Red Wing; one sister, Mary Lou (Edwin) Greske of River Falls, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Steve on January 16, 2004, one brother Thomas Seymour and one sister, Jean Sticha. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2007, at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Carroll Marohl and Reverend Michael Dobbins officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Oakwood Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Jones, Tonya Baird, Christina Storing, Andrew Seymour and Adam and Aaron Johnson. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the Kidney Foundation or donor?s choice.
