Burton L. Husbyn, age 67, of Zumbrota passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. Memorial service will be Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Minneola Lutheran Church with Pastor Hannah Bergstrom de Leon officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 13, 2016 at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burton Lynn Husbyn was born on October 27, 1948 in Red Wing to Peder and Dorothy (Scharpen) Husbyn. Burton grew up on the family farm and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1966. He started working for Hermann Implement John Deere and started a carpentry business in the 70's. Burton ended his working career as a supervisor at Maple Island in Wanamingo due to health related issues. Burton and Ann married on June 25, 1993, they made their home in Zumbrota and enjoyed doing many things together. They enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and baking for the holidays. Burton was on the Wanamingo Fire Department for 25 years, and an active member of Minneola Lutheran Church. Burton enjoyed woodworking, making many wooden treasures, cooking for his wife, canning and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Burton is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ann; children, Brandon (Amy) Husbyn of Wanamingo, Kristie (Carlos) Jimenez of Farmington, and Lindsay (Dustin) Wiebusch of Mazeppa; 11 grandchildren, two nieces, Ashley (Scott) Linaman and Missy (Kevin Nelson) Husbyn; sister-in-law, Susan Husbyn; and his two special four legged friends, Molly and Riley.
Burton was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Husbyn; step-son, Scot O'Reilly; and his parents.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donors' choice.
