Burnette Lynn Dressen, 73, of Red Wing, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was born July 5, 1940, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, to Emil and Flossie (Cabot) Nissalke. She graduated from high school in LaCrosse and went on to attend nurse's training school in Red Wing, receiving her LPN degree. In November of 1959, she married James Dressen, Sr. and together they had five children. She worked as an LPN at St. John's Hospital, various nursing homes and also worked as a nurse at Treasure Island Casino. She was an excellent care giver to everyone she ever worked with. Burnette was an avid reader and she also enjoyed flowers and gardening, her cats, visiting with her neighbors and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, James, Jr. (Pam) of Ellsworth, Wisc., Paul (Vera) of Bay City, Wisc., Kim (Chuck) Rusch of Minnetonka, Kathy (Mark) Davidson of Goodhue and John (Lonnie) of Red Wing; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Don Nissalke and a sister, Mildred Dickson and other family.
