Bruce A. Tipcke

April 20, 1941 — October 13, 2008

Bruce Arleigh Tipcke, 67, Red Wing, died Monday, October 13, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He was born April 20, 1941 in Lake City, Minnesota, the son of Arleigh and Elsie (Burfeind) Tipcke. He attended Belvidere grade schools and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1958. He served in the U. S. Navy 1959-1961 and was honorably discharged. He married Lynne Leerssen in 1962 and they farmed in Goodhue. They later divorced. He married Marie Mahoney on December 7, 1986 at St. John's Lutheran Church and they farmed in Featherstone Township. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, he served on the Goodhue County Fair Board, he greatly enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Marie of Red Wing; four children: Tammy (Pete) Poncelet of Zumbrota, Donna (Craig) Anderson of Zionsville, IN, Jerry (Carol) Tipcke of Goodhue and Dan (Dawn) Tipcke of Goodhue; three step-children: Brian (Nikki) Mahoney of Inver Grove Heights, Lisa (Shane) Hoff of Silver Bay and Angie (Dan) Wolf of Inver Grove Heights; nineteen grandchildren, Dewey, Tara and Shanna Poncelet, Dane, Cole, Brant and Lisa Anderson, Erica Mikayla, Mariah, Elise, Rachel, Ryan, Ray and Ross Tipcke, Nicholas Mahoney, Livia and Braylen Hoff and Brady Wolf and one sister, Carol (Dennis) Dankers of Red Wing. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary and one son, Dewey.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p. m. Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Dewey Poncelet, Dane, Cole and Brant Anderson, Ryan, Ray and Ross Tipcke and Bruce Pearson. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Burfeind, Dennis Dankers, Gene Foley Darrel Jaeger and Larry "Casey" Klindworth. Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church.
