Brian A. Habedank, 35, Brooklyn Park, formerly of Red Wing, died at his residence.
He was born February 10, 1975 in Red Wing, the son of William and Judy (Sunstrom) Habedank. He attended Jefferson Elementary, Twin Bluff Middle School and Red Wing Central High, graduating in 1993. He attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth and Minneapolis, graduating in with a degree in Sociology and Criminology in 1998. He had a deep work ethic and starting working when he was 9 years old, as a Republican Eagle paper boy, then as a stock boy at Buchanan Grocery and Food Bonanza and he worked at USG. During college he lived in Plymouth, MN and worked as a Security Guard, as an Armored Truck guard and driver, and as a Hennepin County Workhouse guard. He had several jobs after college including working at Twin City Federal and Prudential Insurance in the Twin Cities while getting a 2 year degree in computer science through the U of M. He returned to Red Wing for a few years and worked at Heat and Glo in Lake City while obtaining an MBA through the University of Phoenix online. He returned to the Twin Cities, living in St. Paul and then in Brooklyn Park. He worked at Ortho-Rehab as a technician and finally for CompuCom at the Target Headquarters in Minneapolis as a Logistics Technician. He also worked a part-time job at JEC Miller group homes for 10 years. Brian loved sports and he played football in high school and Rugby at the U of M. He was a dedicated, loyal Twins and Vikings fan. He enjoyed working out at the gym, weightlifting and body-building, fishing, scuba diving, and spending time with his cats. He was a good friend and was always willing to lend a hand when asked and he was becoming a master pumpkin carver like his dad. He had a great smile, the best laugh and his favorite holiday was Thanksgiving: "food, football, family".

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Judy of Red Wing; one sister, Laura (Mark) Althans of Austin, TX; three aunts; two uncles; five cousins; and his precious cats, Marcus and Maximus (the M & M boys), and all of his guys he took care of at JEC Miller group homes. He was preceded in death by all of his grandparents and one uncle, Don Sunstrom.

Memorial service will be 11 a. m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing, with Rev. Carmen Edwards officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to SAVE or NAMI.
