Brenda Lou White, 55, of Hastings, lost her battle with cancer at Regina Health Care Center of Hastings, on Sunday, April 29, 2018.
She was born December 29, 1962, in Red Wing, to Eldon and Mary Lou (Lantz) Langer and was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Wing. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1981. She attended Inver Hills Community College, earning an associate degree and St. Catherine's University in St. Paul to earn a bachelor's degree. She furthered her education at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL with a master's degree in nursing to assist her career at Mayo Clinic Health System of Rochester.
Brenda was passionate about taking care of others her entire life. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Marissa who has grown up to be an unbelievably talented young woman.
She is survived by her husband, Rich McNamara; daughter, Marissa White; Marissa's father, Mick White; step-daughters, Courtney (Greg) Hovel and Sydney (Noah) McNamara; siblings, Deborah Postema, Donny Langer, Kevin Langer, Karyl (Myron) Muehlbauer, Brad (Cheryl) Langer and Todd (Melissa) Langer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barb (Delmar) Hinck, Jerry (Linda) McNamara, Don (Carmen) McNamara, Dorothy (Bob) Riedel, Joanne (Steve) Carter, Karen (Joe) Richardson and Dave (Rose) McNamara and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Mary Lou Langer; and her step-son Derek McNamara.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing. A burial will be Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Calvary Cemetery. Funeral procession to the cemetery will be at 11 a.m. leaving from the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing.
