Bonnie K. Benda

Bonnie Kay Benda, age 58, of Goodhue passed away Friday, July 2, 2010 at her residence. She was born August 20, 1951 in Red Wing to Harold and Mildred (Holms) Deden. She grew up in the Goodhue area where she graduated high school. She later attended school in the Minneapolis area. She married Joe Benda on September 25, 1971 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Goodhue. She worked in the Hennepin County Coroner's office for 10 years. Joe and Bonnie moved to Red Wing for awhile and later to Goodhue. She worked for Meyer Industries and later at Red Wing Business Systems for 22 years until retiring. Bonnie was a member at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing golf, shooting trap, playing volleyball, crocheting, bowling, and playing cards with her friends. Most of all Bonnie loved her grandchildren very much.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Benda; three children, Cory (Sara), Mike (Jenny), and Nikki (Andy Alms) Benda all of Goodhue; grandchildren, Taylor, Taylor, Carson, Allison, Madison, Bailey, Brooke, and Porter; Siblings, Neil (Marilyn) Deden of Northfield, Mary (Al) Eggerichs of New Brighton, Donna (Bob) Roschen of Lake City, Irene (Darryl) Brown of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mildred Deden.

Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday July 7, 2010 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will take place at St. Columbkill Cemetery. Pallbears will be Keith Dicke, Kerry Bien, Chuck Benda, Jim Benda, Tim Eggerichs, and Chad Roschen. Honorary pallbearers will be Bonnie's Grandchildren. Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel is handling the arrangements.
