Blanche Swartley age 93 of Frontenac passed away Sunday, April, 13, 2008 at the Lake City Nursing Home.
Blanche was born November 10, 1914 in Featherstone Township in Goodhue County to George & Lydia M. (Bang) Thumann. She attended high school in Red Wing. She married Howard Schilling at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. They later divorced. Blanche then married Leonard Swartley January 26, 1952 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. She worked as a waitress and she also did factory work. Leonard passed away July 3, 1987. Blanche was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Frontenac. She enjoyed Tri-Chem painting and Cross Word Puzzles.
Blanche is survived by a brother, Roy Thumann of Red Wing; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister Pearl Holst and one brother Bernard Thumann.
Funeral Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at St, John's Lutheran Church Frontenac with the Rev. Chris Hoppe officiating. Burial will be in Frontenac Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the services at the church.
