Beverly Samuelson

Beverly J. Samuelson, 75, of Hager City, Wisc. died November 23, 2013 at her home. She was born January 14, 1938 to Ted and Barbara (Smith) Mathews in Red Wing. She was named by her sister Margaret. She went to Jefferson Elementary School and graduated from Central High School in Red Wing. She then attended Mankato State College. On September 13, 1961 she married Eugene Samuelson and they had four sons, whom she loved very much, David, Duane, Paul and Peter. Bev worked at Citizens Fund Insurance Co. office for Dr. Keith W. Jorgensen and St. John's Hospital. After her children were all in school she was secretary at First Baptist Church for 22 and 2/3 years. She taught Sunday School and Awana, was involved in women's and children's programs and was on the Missions and various committees there. She worshipped at Faith Community Church in Hudson and Cornerstone Community Church in Red Wing. She enjoyed many wonderful friends and Bible studies there. She enjoyed visiting shut-ins for many years as well as calling for and working at the Bloodmobile. She volunteered at Seminary Home. She loved chocolate and made many chocolate gifts, enjoyed stamping and sending cards to friends.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene; four sons, David of Hager City, Duane of Hager City, Paul of Ellsworth and Peter of Red Wing, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Ted; sister, Margaret (Harry) Jacobson; step mother, Grace and other family.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Cornerstone Community Church in Red Wing with Rev. Mark Kalb and Larry Szymann officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Monday, November 25 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred to Gideons and the American Cancer Society. On line condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
