Beverly A. McGuire

Beverly Alice McGuire, 87, of Red Wing and formerly of Gaylord, Minnesota, died Friday, February 28, 2020, at her daughter's home in Red Wing. She was born October 1, 1932, in Mankato, to Wesley and Nellie (Evans) Thomas. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1950. She married Paul McGuire in 1954. She farmed with her husband for many years and raised their children and also sold Avon. She and Paul later divorced. In 2003, she moved to Red Wing where she volunteered at AnaDee's Closet. She was a member of St. Michael's Church in Gaylord and St. Joseph's in Red Wing. She enjoyed sewing, doing puzzles, coloring, going to demolition derbies and monster truck shows and watching her grandchildren's sporting events.
She is survived by her children, Joanne Forsberg of Red Wing, David (Debbie) McGuire of St. James, Duane (Sandie) McGuire of Gaylord and John (Marcy Schwartzmiller) McGuire of Farmington; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Grace Lassas and Sharon (Earl) Taylor and one brother, Gary (Myrna) Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas McGuire; 3 brothers, Thomas, Harland and Rolland Thomas; sister, Eleanor Osdoba; a grandson, Brandon; 5 great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, John Forsberg.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date at the Gaylord Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the National MS Society or Fraser Autism Society of MN.
