Beverly J (Schwenn) Dohrer

Beverly J. Dohrer, a loving wife, sister, mother (3), grandmother (4) and great-grandmother (4), peacefully entered the presence of our Lord on September 16th, 2022.

Bev, as we lovingly referred to her, was born on May 31, 1934. This was the first memorable day for the Schwenn family. The first born to Vernon and Helen (Grensing) Schwenn, she was born in Milbank, South Dakota. She was later joined by five siblings, DeVern, Ivan, Lowell, Sherry (deceased) and Ruth.

Growing up in the Milbank-Corona-Wilmot area (the NE South Dakota region), she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Vincent K. Dohrer. On August 25th, 1955, the two were married. They moved to Minneapolis, MN to embark on their new future. This godly blessed union produced three daughters, Pamela, Priscilla, and Patrice. All three are loving and serving our Lord.

In the early ‘80’s, Vince and Bev moved to Faribault, MN to begin a totally new venture together. They purchased a Coast-to-Coast hardware store, where at one time or another, all three daughters would work with them in the store. With Bev by Vince’s side, the business venture expanded to open additional stores in Rochester, MN. Eventually, the couple moved to Rochester where they enjoyed their retirement years.

Bev will be remembered by her love to talk…to anyone! She always had a story to share. Even if you didn’t want to, you would probably hear a story about Jesus. She will be remembered for how deeply she cared for and loved her family.

The memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. September 22, 2022 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Aaron Justice and Rev. Dr. DeVern Schwenn officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Rochester, MN.  Online condolences are welcome and may be shared at mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
