Betty Ruth Miller

Betty Ruth Miller, 79, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born July 14, 1933, in Wabasha County, to Chester and Viola (Fick) Pruter. After graduating from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1951, she was united in marriage to Arvid Miller on September 8 at Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church. They lived in Lake City and Oak Center before moving to Red Wing in 1955. She had worked part-time at the Red Wing Pottery, did housekeeping and also worked at the Sterling and Parkway Motels. Betty was a talented seamstress and in addition to sewing, also enjoyed doing other craft work. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Betty is survived by her husband, Arvid of Red Wing; 5 children, Linda (John) Karges of Minneapolis, Lila (Philip) Steber of West St. Paul, Barbara Miller of Rochester, Faye Miller of Annandale and Larry (Cathy) Miller of Wasilla, Alaska; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 3 brothers, Lawrence (Lois) Pruter of Red Wing, Earl Pruter of Rosemount and Marvin (Carla) Pruter of Wykoff.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, David Paul Steber.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Wing with Reverend Loren Lucht officiating. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
