Betty Ann Oelkers

Betty Ann Oelkers, 68, of Red Wing, died Thursday, October 31, 2013, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born May 15, 1945, in Red Wing, to Marvin and Verna (Vieths) Oelkers. Despite her disabilities, she strove to be independent as much as she could. Betty enjoyed watching investigative TV shows and loved her nieces and nephews. She had an excellent memory and an unforgettable laugh.

She is survived by three siblings, Richard (Bonita) of Estero, FL, Thomas (Judith) of Lakeville, MN and Nancy (David) of Ellsworth; an aunt, Joan Loer of Bayport; an uncle, Harry Oelkers of Red Wing; nieces and nephews, Scott of New Hampshire, Kristie and Robin of Illinois, Angie of St. Cloud, Jennifer of Farmington, Erin of Virginia, Andrew of Bayport and Josef of St. Paul as well as many other cousins and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov.4, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
