Betty Jane Koenig

Betty Koenig, age 88, of Lake City passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Nursing Home. She was born January 1, 1931 to Otto and Mary (Heitman) Koenig in Oronoco, MN. She grew up in the Oronoco area and attended school there. Betty worked at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester for 40 years. After she retired she moved to Lake City. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, bowling, and going for walks.
She is survived by her sister, Myrna Liffrig of Lake City; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Irene Ziebell and Lola Preble; two brothers, Don King and Harold Koenig.
Graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
