Betty A. Klennert

Betty Ann Klennert, 88, of Lake City passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester. She was born in Lake City on March 24, 1928 to Joseph and Anna (Johnson) Dwelle.

Betty graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. She married John Klennert June 23, 1946 in Lake City where they made their home. She worked as a secretary in Lake City and at the Citizen Action Counsel. She also bartended at the Anchor Inn in Lake City and at the Labor Temple in Winona. Betty was an avid bowler and bird watcher. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca (Mark) Bond of Pardeeville, Wisconsin, and Brenda (Brian) Coleman of Lake City; four grandchildren, Katie Coleman of Rochester, Patrick Coleman of Minneapolis, Jared Bond of Neenah, Wisconsin, and Shawn Coleman of St. Paul; and one brother Glenn (Angie) Dwelle of Lake City. She is preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, and one grandson, Matthew Coleman.

A funeral service will be Monday, December 19th at 11 am at Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Reverend Duane Holst officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Memorials preferred to the National Audubon Society.
