PINE ISLAND, MINNESOTA
Betty Byron Holt, age 81, of Pine Island, MN, formerly of Mobile, Alabama, died at the Pine Haven Center, Pine Island, on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. at the Oronoco Community Center. A memorial service will also be held in Mobile, Alalbama at a later date.
Betty Byron was born on September 16, 1933 the daughter of Linol Clayton and Clara Louise (Booker) Byron in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She attended school in Mississippi area and then was united in marriage to Newell Holt. Newell was stationed in Mississippi with the Air Force and upon his honorable discharge in 1955, Betty and Newell moved to the Rochester, MN area. In 1965, Betty returned to Mississippi and raised her children. She came to live in the area in 2014, and entered the Pine Haven Care Center in June of 2014. Betty worked as a nursing assistant in the Decatur, IL area and in her retirement years greatly enjoyed her "grandbabies and great-grandbabies" as well as Bingo.
She is survived by her children: Donna (Larry) McDaniel of Mobile, AL, Jacqueline Iden of Molbile, AL ad Delbert (Gwen) Holt of Oronoco, MN, grandchildren: Sara, Alisa, Athena, Christopher, Eva, Jennifer, James, Michael, Jordan and Jakob, 10 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law: Jamie Holt of Ostrander, MN and siblings: Mac Byron and Danny (Kay) Byron, all of Mississippi, Dorothy (Wayne) Bennett, Rita (Sidney) Bruasard and Peggy (Ray) Sexton, all of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons: Roger, Philip and Ralph, son-in-law: Bobby Iden and siblings: Clayton, Glen, Woody and Kathy.
