Betty "Sally" Hauschildt
Betty Jane "Sally" Hauschildt, 82, of Red Wing, died Monday March 10, 2008 at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was born December 20, 1925 in Oxbow, Wisconsin to Art and Clara (Thiessen) Turnbell. She attended schools in Red Wing and Prescott, and then worked at the Red Wing Pottery where she was a painter. She married Harry Hauschildt on December 12, 1945 in Red Wing. She was a homemaker until she started working at the Red Wing Health Center in 1965, as one of the first nursing assistants. Harry died July 13, 1976. In 1988 she retired. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Fat Tuesday Lunch Bunch. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and Twins Baseball.
She is survived by two sons, Mike (Pearl) Hauschildt and John (Judy) Hauschildt, all of Bay City; one daughter, Kathy (Jim) Schmidt of Hager City; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Olson of Hager City and Audrey (Don) Brand of Siren, Wisconsin; one brother, Duane (Nita) Turnbell of Ruther Glen, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; three brothers, Buddy, Buzzy and Warren Turnbell; two sisters, Beverly Hardy and Shirley Hutchson.
Memorial service will be 2 p. m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be the "Fat Tuesday Lunch Bunch": Lorraine Olson, Carole Adams, Alberta Turnbell and Cindy Oelke. Visitation will be 4-7 p. m. Wednesday and for one hour prior to the service Thursday, all at the funeral home.
