Betty Lou Fortier, 88, of Red Wing, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Monday, June 1, 2015. She takes with her the hearts of her family and friends. She lived her life with great joy and wonder, and was thankful for each day she woke up to. Always in high heels, lipstick a must and smiles for everyone. She greatly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later years, she and her beloved Paul traveled the world, creating memories of wonderful adventures together. She taught us how to live and love, and we take consolation in that as we go on.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Fortier and son, Bob Fortier, Jr. Survivors include her children: Pam (Bob) Rautenberg of White Bear Lake and Nancy Fortier of Eagan; three grandchildren: Brian Rautenberg of Lino Lakes, Angie (Bob) McHardy of Ellsworth and Jenna (Jeremy) Sell of Red Wing; 10 great-grandchildren: Cole, AJ and Bree Rautenberg, Alyssa and Tanner Pechacek, Maggie, Bentley and Jordy McHardy, Jonah Fortier and Jade Sell; her dear companion, Paul Bringgold of Cannon Falls and many loving friends.
Mass of the Resurrection will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Church of Saint Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or donor's choice. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
