Bette Lou Erickson

Bette Lou Erickson, 83, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Benedictine Living Community - Red Wing. She was born May 30, 1937 to O. A. and Laura (Rhine) Amundson in Red Wing. She grew up in Belvidere Mills and attended rural schools before going to Red Wing Central High School, graduating class of 1956. Bette raised two sons while she worked for Red Wing Shoe Company for more than 35 years. She enjoyed the outdoors and would relax at her vacation trailer in Northern Wisconsin, fishing, watching the birds and other wildlife.  She loved all animals, especially her dog, Tootsie. More than anything she loved being a grandmother and spending time with her two grandsons.

She is survived by her two sons, Tom DeWeese of Grantsburg, Wisc. and Doug (Deb) DeWeese of Goodhue; two grandsons, Mike and Tim. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claire Erickson; sister, Beverly Bell; and her parents, O.A. Amundson and Laura Nelson.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery with Chaplain Debby Bradley officiating. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
