Bertha Voth, 82, of Red Wing, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at her home. She was born July 6, 1927 in Kress, Texas to Alfred and Minnie (Buhrkuhl) Berner. Bertha grew up in Kress before moving to Arkansas because of the dust storms in Texas. She graduated from high school in Springdale, Arkansas in 1945. After attending college Bertha taught in McAllen, Texas for two years. She married Elmer Voth on May 30, 1949 in McAllen. The couple farmed in Featherstone Township and moved to Red Wing after retiring. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, LWML, and Goodhue County Homemakers. Bertha enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, flowers, cooking, needlework, traveling, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Elmer; seven children, Donna (Skip) Baker, Kelvin (Barb), Frank (Brenda), all of Red Wing, Dean of Rochester, Wayne (Kathy) of Lewiston, Jerry (Therese) of Elmwood, and Randy of Wabasha; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward (Elaine) of Springdale, AR, and Chester (Jewel) of Rogers, AR; two sisters, Pauline Wilson of Mesa, AZ, and Elsie Westerfield of Little Rock, AR; sister-in-law Lois Berner of Little Rock, AR, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Arnold, Edwin, Raymond, Donald, and Lawrence.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Reverend Tyge Zucker officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Nathan Voth, Captain Scott Voth, Christopher Baker, Jason Baker, Adam Voth, and Corey Voth. Major Gregory Voth will be an honorary pallbearer. Memorials are preferred to Food for the Poor, Lutheran Hour Ministries, or donor's choice.
