Bertha Elmira Timm

Bertha E. Timm, 86, of Zumbrota, died Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Zumbrota Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, November 5, 2007 at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with the Reverend Wayne D. Schoch officiating. Interment will be in Pine Island Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Bertha's six grandsons. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Bertha Elmira Maxon was born November 7, 1920 in Roscoe Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota to Thomas and Mildred (nee Haight) Maxon. She graduated from Pine Island High School. On December 25, 1941 Bertha married Maybin Timm in Oronoco. The couple farmed in rural Mazeppa for thirty years. Following Maybin's retirement in the late 1980's, the couple moved into Zumbrota. Maybin died July 28, 2006. Bertha had resided at the The Bridges in Zumbrota since August of 2006. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed watching television and playing crossword puzzles.

Bertha is survived by her son, Mike (Barb) Timm of Rochester; six grandsons, Michael Timm II, Mathew Timm, David Timm, John Timm, Paul Timm and Mark Timm; a sister, Arlene Pike of Austin, Minnesota and a brother, Lloyd (Margaret) Maxon of Wichita Falls, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maybin and five brothers, Harold, Floyd, Roy, Milton and Verne Maxon.
